It is interesting how creators can climb a difficult path and find a partial plateau. They stay at this halfway point and never push themselves to reach the peak. Being great involves uniform and continuous work—not a flash or spark, but something as new and unique as it was in the beginning. Each project reveals more and more of what is new and different. km

Too many stay on the plateau. It’s comfortable there and get lots of money, which equates to recognition (if only that’s all you needed). The plateau is in constant decay though.

That is excellent point, but as long as their movies make money, many writers, producers, and directors will make their version of what a movie ' should be' Sometimes the freedom they have allows them to add new and personal twists and ties to these films. That puts them in the vanguard of being new, fresh, creative, and unexpected. I fell sick with too many prequels, sequels, and multi-universes. I don't go to the movies to read 3 pages of print up on the screen. I attended to have my vision challenged and my hearing opened. (( several of the Harry Potter were so dark, I could not determine what was happening, much less what I was seeing. )) That darkness put me back in the theater and my seat. Not very well said.km
